CFUnited Now a Week Earlier
Figures I'd go through the trouble of making countdown timers for the two conferences I'm attending and then have one of them go and change the date on me. :)
Fortunately it's just a matter of updating the date value in the code.
More importantly, I can still make it to CFUnited. Had they moved it up an additional week...that would have been a problem for me.
And the fact that it's now in Washington D.C. itself means I can use the Metro for about half of the journey, cutting down on time in traffic.

In principle, I agree with them making the gesture of e-mailing all the registered attendees before announcing it more widely, but realistically it makes sense to get the news out there as soon as possible for those folks who need to make (or remake) their travel arrangements. They (the CFUnited folks) were upfront with the fact that the venue was still not set, but no one anticipated that the dates of the conference would change.
It's kind of a moot point now, as they've made the announcement on the CFUnited blog: http://cfunited.com/blog/
